So, as you can see, I appear to have neglected my blog.

Well, it is dissertation time after all!

However, I have found that most of my opinions can be summed up in 140 characters. Twitter: step forward!

So, look to the right and view my latest political/music/sport-related ramblings, you might just be tickled into a debate.

10. Ben Preston - New Planet

I don't know why this track is so good. Probably the reason why I love it so much.

First heard: March, Record of the Week, Trance Around the World with Above & Beyond

9. Pendulum - Watercolour

Emotional and sincere yet crazy. Rob Swire & co. keep delivering.

First heard: May, Radio 1

8. Pendulum - Witchcraft

My computer OCD kicked in when two consecutive Pendulum songs were making my top 10 look scruffy, but try as I might, I couldn't drop one of them.

First heard: July, on their album 'Immersion'

7. Kano - Spaceship

Chase & Status + Kano = big things. Also my official 2010 away day anthem!

First heard: October, Annie Mac on Radio 1

6. Dido - Everything To Lose (Armin van Buuren Remix)

Anyone who makes a 'Sex in the City' soundtrack sound amazing has to be worthy of the top 10! Armin showing us why he's the world's number one DJ.

First heard: August, Trance Around the World

5. Vinny Troia Feat. Jaidene Veda - Do For Love (Matt Lange Remix)

If you have a "thing" for someone right now, listen to this track. You'll know what I mean once you've heard it. Such a gorgeous track. "Deep and lovely" as described by Above & Beyond.

First heard: November, Trance Around the World

4. Nero - Me & You

Dubstep is clearly trying to break into the mainstream. It won't be long with songs like this. 'Me & You' is guaranteed to elevate your mood. Cool video too.

First heard: October, Annie Mac on Radio 1 (I was dancing around the aisles at work!)

3. Ronski Speed vs. Yuri Kane - Denva Right Back (Plathysma Mashup)

Mashup of the year! Ronski Speed's dirty 'Denva' beats brought 'Right Back' to purity by Yuri Kane. Truly inspirational track for me during the second half of the year.

First heard: July, Tiësto's Club Life

2. Ben Gold - Profile

The piercing, edgy side of trance has been prominent this year - and nobody does it better than Ben Gold. Never heard such an intense sound. That's before you even get to the gorgeous piano breakdown. Amazing.

First heard: July, Trance Around the World, Ben Gold Guestmix

1. Aruna & Mark Eteson - Let Go (Nic Chagall Remix)

This track truly encapsulates everything great about this chart. Emotion, deepness, gorgeous vocals, but with uplifting kicks still included. It also puts on display the closing gap between house and trance, which has characterised 2010. Simply beautiful.

First heard: October, Trance Around the World, Nic Chagall Guestmix
